Install and Pin the Guidde Extension
Before capturing your step-by step guidde, ensure the Guidde extension is installed on your Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser:
1. Go to your browser’s web store and search for Guidde.
2. Click Add, and approve the required permissions.
3. For easy access, we recommend pinning the Guidde extension to your browser toolbar.
4. After downloading, click the puzzle icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
5. Click the pin icon to keep Guidde in your toolbar. Now you can easily launch it whenever you want to capture a video.
Initiate a Step-by-Step Capture
1. To start capturing your process, click into your Guidde extension.
2. A pop-up will prompt you to set your recording preferences and use-case.
3. Describe your Guidde for better context and more tailored output.
Make sure to describe your Guidde in the same language you’ll be recording in.

Using Magic Mic for Your Use Case
Step-by-Step Guiddes with Magic Mic:
Create a How-To, SOP, Training, Process Documentation, Knowledge Base, and Other, guiddes. Magic Mic listens to your narration, cleans and tightens the text, and pairs it with your actual clicks and screen actions. You get structured step-based Guiddes with refined narration and an AI voice that delivers it. Everything is easily editable, saving you recording time, re-recordings, and time spent updating your content.
Product Demo with Magic Mic:
In Product Demo, clicks are not taken into account. Magic Mic focuses on what you say, condenses the narration, cuts silences, and generates a smooth, narration-driven demo video.
Presenter Led with Magic Mic:
Presenter Led keeps your narration and timing as close as possible to the raw recording. Silences are not cut and the narration is not rewritten. Steps are built entirely around what you say and do onscreen, with an AI speaker that follows your tone and pacing. This combined mode doesn’t rely just on onscreen clicks; it follows your explanation and actions onscreen, to generate video-based steps with an AI speaker that matches your instructions and tone, helping you create fully personalized, accurate, narration while adding movement and flow to your guiddes.
Screen Capture with Magic Mic:
Combine your screen recording, camera, and workflow with Magic Mic’s capabilities to transform your narration into a polished AI voiceover. It works similarly to Presenter-Led mode: your narration and pacing stay intact. Magic Mic follows your spoken explanation and on-screen actions without removing pauses or rewriting your narration, keeping it as close as possible to the original while giving you the flexibility of an adjustable, translatable, always-editable AI voiceover.
Note: When Magic Mic is applied, your original voice and narration are not recorded in the video or saved in the background. Magic Mic’s AI transforms your narration into a polished and always adjustable AI voiceover.
Start Capturing with Magic Mic
1. From your Guidde extension menu, toggle Magic Mic - on.
2. Click Start Capture.
3. Start clicking through your process while speaking and explaining as you go.
4. Click "Done" when you've finished.
That's it! A polished video with an AI enhanced speaker and enriched transcript will be generated for you in a few seconds. You can edit it as needed
Advanced Options
Language Selection and Privacy Mode
1. Click into Advanced Options at the bottom of the panel to choose your video's language or to Record in Secure Mode.
Secure Mode Magic Blur: Available on the Enterprise plan
Manual Blur: Available on the Business Plan
2. Select your preferred language for the step-by-step guidde. English is the default.
Note: Note: On smaller screens, scroll down to view the language options.
Start Capture
1. Once your settings are in place, click Start Capture.
You'll be notified that capture is about to start and a recording panel will appear on the bottom left side of your screen.
2. Click through your process.
When capturing a step by step guidde, you can click across multiple browser tabs. Guidde automatically detects and logs each mouse click as a separate step.
No worries if you click something by mistake! You can easily delete it later in the video editor.
3. Click the recording panel logo in the bottom left corner of the screen, or the Guidde extension pinned to your browser. From the recording toolbar that appears, you can:
Pause the recording.
Blur sensitive information.
Take additional screenshots while recording.
Restart the capture.
Delete the current capture.
Hide the toolbar to prevent it from appearing in the captured video.
Reposition the toolbar to the left or right.
Finish the capture process by clicking Done.
4. You can hide the recording panel by clicking the "up" arrow.
The recording panel will then move upwards and will not be visible in your recording.
Hiding the recording panel only needs to be done once, the system remembers this choice. Once you pin the Guidde extension to your browser, the recording panel will be automatically hidden, unless you configure otherwise.
When the recording panel is hidden, click the Guidde icon in your browser’s extensions to open it.
5. You can replace the logo with your own logo in the brand kit.
Available in the Brand Kit for Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
Finish the capture and review your Guidde
1. From the Guidde extension or the recording panel - click "Done".
2. After you stop the capture, Guidde opens your video in a new tab - complete with clear step visuals, an AI-generated speaker voice and transcript, and a polished, ready-to-share layout.
3. You can change the speaker voice and transcript in the Speaker Editor if needed.
To ensure consistency, all video recordings are standardized to a resolution of 1920x1080 px. This will maintain a uniform and professional appearance across all videos.
Note: Videos are limited to 100 steps on the free, pro, and business plans (including the free trial). This keeps your Guiddes concise and ensures a smoother experience for both creators and viewers.
Pro Tip: If your video exceeds the step limit, we recommend splitting it into two separate videos.
