Using Magic Mic for Your Use Case

Step-by-Step Guiddes with Magic Mic:
Create How-to Tutorials, Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Training Guides, Process Documentation, Knowledge Base Articles, and Other Guiddes. Magic Mic listens to your narration, automatically removes silent gaps from your recordings during processing, and pairs it with your clicks and screen actions. You get structured step-based guiddes with refined narration and an AI voice that delivers it. Everything is easily editable, saving you recording time, re-recordings, and time spent updating your content.

Product Demo with Magic Mic:
Keeps your narration and timing as close as possible to the original. Silences are trimmed and the narration is not rewritten. Steps are built entirely around what you say and do onscreen, with an AI speaker that follows your tone and pacing. This combined mode doesn’t rely just on onscreen clicks; it follows your explanation and actions onscreen, to generate video-based steps with an AI speaker that matches your instructions and tone, helping you create fully personalized, accurate, narration while adding movement and flow to your guiddes.

Employee Training with Magic Mic:

Automatically applies pan & zoom to detected click areas within video steps, helping viewers focus on the most important actions on screen. This mode is especially useful for employee training and walkthroughs, guiding viewers’ attention exactly where it's needed as processes unfold.

Screen Recording with Magic Mic:
Combine screen recording, camera, and workflow capture with Magic Mic to turn your narration into a polished AI voiceover.

Magic Mic follows your spoken explanation and on-screen actions, removing pauses while preserving the intent and flow of your original narration. It then transforms it into a flexible AI voiceover that is editable, adjustable, and translatable.

Note: When Magic Mic is applied, your original voice and narration are not recorded or stored in the backround. Magic Mic transforms your narration into a polished and always adjustable AI voiceover.

Pro Tip: Controlling Step Types in How-To Tutorials with Magic Mic

When recording a step-by-step guidde using Magic Mic, each click is captured as either a video step (continuous video without callouts) or a static step (a still image with an automatically generated callout).

The step type depends on your narration at the time of clicking:

  • Speaking while clicking: The step is captured as a video step, and no callouts are generated.

  • Silent while clicking: The step is captured as a static step, and a callout is automatically generated.

If you'd like callouts appear on all steps, briefly pause your narration before each click and resume speaking afterward.

This behavior does not apply to Product Demo or Screen Capture recordings, which always produce continuous video steps by design.

If you already have the Desktop app installed, you may need to update to the latest version to use the new features in the app. Click Relaunch Now at the top of the app when prompted.

Start Recording

1. Once you've set up the recording prefferences, click Continue at the bottom.

2. Select whether you’d like to capture your full screen or a specific window.

Full Screen Capture

3. If you have multiple screens, windows, or apps open, you’ll be able to choose which one to record - simply click the preview of the screen or window you want to capture.

5. Click Capture at the bottom of the panel.

Start Capture

A short countdown will appear before the recording begins, and if Magic Mic is enabled, you’ll see a reminder to speak naturally so the AI can capture your narration effectively.

Note: The desktop app captures your screen and instructions, it does not capture the system audio (such as meetings or sounds played on your device).

4. While recording, the recording panel is visible to you and will not appear in the final video. From the panel, you can

  • Finish

  • Pause

  • Restart

  • Delete

Note: You won’t see a step count in the Recording Panel when using Magic Mic, since steps are generated automatically after you finish recording.

5. To stop recording click Done on the recording panel.

That’s it! Your guidde will be generated shortly and open in a new tab on the video view page, where you can review, edit, or share it at any time.
