We're excited to introduce our Desktop Capture application, designed to bring Guidde’s powerful documentation capabilities to your desktop.

With Desktop Capture you can capture any software workflow straight from your desktop. We can’t wait to see all the new step-by-step guides you’ll create!

🖥️ Supported Operation Systems

  • Windows: version 10 or higher

  • macOS: version 11 or higher

📚 Steps to get started on Windows:

1. Download the installation file

For Guidde Desktop Capture App for Windows: Download here;


2. Install the Desktop Capture App

Run the installation file from your Downloads folder to install the Desktop Capture App.

Select if you'd like to install the Desktop Capture App for anyone who uses your computer or only for the current user;


3. Launch

Select "Run Guidde" to launch the Desktop Capture App;


3. Authorize

Sign in to your Guidde account;

4. Prepare to capture

The Desktop Capture App is ready! Select the documentation category and add a few words about the goal of your guide.

5. Start recording

Now you’re all set to start recording your first Guidde video using the Desktop Capture app.

6. To stop recording click "Done" on the recording panel

While recording, you can find the recording panel by clicking on the the Guidde Desktop app icon at the bottom of your screen.
From the panel you can also delete, restart or pause your video and see a step count while you're recording.



📚 Steps to get started on MacOS:


1. Download and install the app

Install the file that matches your device.


2. Launch the app

Once the installation file is downloaded, move it to the Applications folder and launch the Desktop Capture app.

3. Sign in

Click 'Sign in' to authorize and choose your usual authentication method. The authentication window will open in the web app.

4. Permissions

To enable the desktop capture app to record your screen, click on the "Enable" and activate the toggle for Guidde.

5. Accessibility

Activate the Accessibility toggle to allow Guidde to access image content descriptions.

6. Start recording

Now you’re all set to start recording your first Guidde video using the Desktop Capture app.

7. To stop recording click "Done" on the recording panel

While recording, you can find the recording panel in your menu bar or in the Dock.
From the panel you can also delete, restart or pause your video and see a step count while you're recording.
