Create a Guidde from Mobile or Tablet Recordings

You can now create guiddes directly from the Guidde web app on your mobile phone or tablet. Simply record a video on your device and upload it to Guidde. Our AI will automatically process it into a structured, shareable guidde.

Available on: The Business and Enterprise plans.

Note:

  • Auto highlights and text callouts aren't supported in mobile/tablet-created guiddes, they can be added later in the video editor.

  • Editing a guidde is available on desktop only.

  • Once your guidde is ready, you can share it from your phone or tablet or open it on desktop to make any adjustments.

Capture a Video to Upload on Your Device

There are two types of videos you can create and upload to Guidde:

  • Camera Recording: Open your device's camera app, record your actions, and narrate as you go.

  • Screen Capture: Use the native screen recorder on your phone or tablet, and narrate out loud while recording your screen.

Why narration matters:

Adding narration helps Guidde’s AI understand the context of your recording. It can automatically split your video into chapters, generate AI voiceovers, and create a relevant title—helping you achieve the best possible result.

We recommend narrating as you record, whether you're using your camera or a screen recorder. Speak aloud throughout the process and describe each step as if you're explaining it to someone seeing it for the first time. This provides valuable context that helps generate more accurate and effective results.

Record with Your Camera

Use your phone or tablet's built-in camera app to record your process:

  1. Open your device's camera app

  2. Switch to Video mode

  3. Press record, then perform the workflow you want to demonstrate

  4. Narrate clearly throughout — describe every action out loud

  5. Stop recording when done

  6. Your video will be saved to your photo library, ready to upload

Capture Your Screen

Screen recording captures everything happening on your phone's display, ideal for demonstrating apps, software, or workflows.

Screen Recording on iPhone (iOS)

Before recording, make sure that Screen Record is in your Control Center and the microphone is enabled:

  1. Go to Settings > Control Center

  2. Tap the + next to Screen Recording to add it if it's not already there

  3. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center (or swipe up on older iPhones)

  4. Press and hold the Screen Record button (circle inside a circle)

  5. Tap the Microphone icon so it turns red — this enables audio capture. This step is essential.

  6. Tap Start Recording — a 3-second countdown will appear

  7. Perform your steps and narrate aloud

  8. When done, tap the red status bar at the top of your screen, or return to the Control Center and tap the Screen Record button again

  9. The recording is saved to your Photos app

  2. Look for a Screen Record or Screen Recorder tile. If you don't see it, tap the edit/pencil icon to add it to your panel.

  3. Tap Screen Recorder

  4. A prompt will appear asking what sound to capture. Select Microphone - This step is essential for narration.

  5. Tap Start — a countdown appears, then recording begins

  6. Perform your steps and narrate aloud

  7. Pull down the notification shade and tap Stop to end the recording

  8. Your recording is saved to the Gallery or Photos app

Tips for a Great Guidde

Before you record

  • Turn on Do Not Disturb (keep Wi-Fi on), disable voice assistants, confirm at least 50% battery and 2 GB free storage, and make sure the mic port is clean and unobstructed.

  • Choose the quietest available time slot — during downtime, changeovers, or before/after a shift when neighboring lines are idle.

  • Do a 10-second test recording and play it back at half volume. If you have to strain to hear yourself over the background, move locations, wait for downtime, or use Guidde's re-record option.

  • Use a wired headset and clip the inline mic near your collar. Avoid Bluetooth earbuds - they compress voice audio and can drop out mid-take.

  • If recording without a headset, hold the phone 20–30 cm from your mouth, speak slightly across the mic (not directly into it), and keep your grip steady to avoid handling noise.

Beating factory-floor noise

  • Keep your back to the loudest noise source (compressors, HVAC, conveyors) so your body shields the mic, and step 2–3 meters away from running equipment when possible.

  • Avoid narrating into large, empty areas — bare metal and concrete cause echo. Standing near the machine itself actually helps dampen reverb.

  • Can't get quiet? Use Guidde's re-record option: capture the video silently on the floor, then re-record narration in a nearby office or control room.

What to say

  • Narrate like you're training the newest person on your line. Name the part, the action, and the result for every step.

  • State exact values, button names, and locations — the AI voiceover preserves these word-for-word.

  • Always call out safety steps (lockout, PPE, guards) explicitly.

  • Use consistent name conventions throughout the video.

  • Pause one second between steps — pauses become clean edit points.

Pace and delivery

  • Speak about 20% slower than normal conversation, with short sentences and one instruction per sentence.

  • Don't worry about accent, tone, or delivery — the AI voiceover replaces the voice, not the words.

  • Made a mistake? Pause and re-say the whole sentence from the start. Don't restart the video — flubbed lines are removed later.

That's it! With mobile and tablet creation, your recordings don't have to stay on your device. Record any process directly from your phone and upload it to Guidde for a polished, editable and shareable guidde complete with an AI-generated voiceover (on Enterprise), structured chapters, and a ready-to-share link.
