Control the Cursor Effect in the Video Editor

Create interactive step-by-step guides with an animated cursor and click effects that clearly show viewers where to focus and what to click. Create a Screen Walkthrough Guidde, customize its cursor and click effects, and set your preferred configuration.

Creating a Screen Walkthrough Guidde

Select Screen Walkthrough from the template menu when you start a new guidde. Every interaction step in the guidde will render with an animated cursor and click effect instead of the classic overlay/spotlight/arrow/callout elements.

Note: Cursor Effects are only available for guiddes created with the Screen Walkthrough template. You can't add Cursor Effects to guiddes created with other templates.

Cursor Effects in the Interactions Section

Guiddes created from Screen Walkthrough show a Cursor Effects section in the Interactions menu of the editor's side panel. From here you can set:

  • Cursor shape - Arrow, Hand, or Marker

  • Cursor style - Six options are available under each category

  • Use a different cursor for interactions - toggle on to set another shape/style just for click interactions.

  • Click effect - None, Circle, or Ripple, played briefly at each click point

Set as Default

Toggle Set as default in the Cursor Effects panel to save your current configuration as your own personal default. It applies to guiddes you create afterward, and it overrides your org's Brand Kit default. Turning it off reverts your future guiddes to the org default - it doesn't change the guidde you're currently editing.
