Learn how to use the Blur and Overlay functions to conceal sensitive information from your videos

Blur and Overlay effects

1. Enter edit mode for your video;

2. Click on Insert;

3. Select Overlay or Blur effect to apply.


📌 Overlay can be applied multiple times (for darker effect) for one and the same step.

📌 Blur can not be applied to: Cover, Ending and added 'Blank' and 'Image' steps.


To blur the same area across your entire video:

  1. Right-click the Blur element.

  2. Choose "Apply to all steps."

Manual blur

Allows to hide sensitive information during the capture process to enhance privacy and security on the go.

Available on: Business, Enterprise plans​

Simply pause the recording at any time—either before the initial click of the workflow you want to showcase or at any stage of the capture process. Then, click Blur on the recording panel and select the sensitive information you want to hide.

Remove extra Overlay layer

1. Open your video in edit mode.

2. Click anywhere within the captured screen image.

3. The overlay will be highlighted with a blue frame, and a trash bin icon will appear in the top left corner.

4. Click on the trash bin icon to remove the excessive darkness from the step of your guide.
