Connect your AI agent to your Guidde Library and get answers based on the content in your workspace. Ask how something is done, and your agent can search your Guidde walkthroughs and use them to provide clear, step-by-step answers - directly within the AI agent you already use.
Guidde MCP is a remote MCP server. Your AI agent connects to it over the internet and you authenticate using your Guidde account. There’s no local server to run and no API key to manage or rotate.
No API keys. Sign in to Guidde once in your browser and approve the connection.
Nothing to install. No downloads, config files, or command line required.
Read-only, for now. The connection can search and read content in your Guidde library. It cannot create, edit, publish, or delete anything.
Access based on your permissions. The agent sees the guiddes you can already see - and nothing else.
Available: as an add-on, only on the Enterprise plan
Why this matters
AI assistants are only as useful as the knowledge they can access. Most enterprise chat tools and AI agents rely on generic web knowledge rather than your organization's actual process library. The result: employees may get no answer - or worse, an outdated or hallucinated one.
Guidde MCP solves this by giving your AI agent a live, grounded connection to your Guidde library. Every answer is grounded in a real Guidde walkthrough - cited, not invented. And because Guidde already captures process knowledge step by step, there's no need to re-author or re-format your content to make it ready for AI.
Connect Guidde to Claude
These instructions are for Claude. Setup steps vary by agent - guides for other AI tools are coming soon.
If your organization has already added the Guidde connector to Claude:
Guidde will appear automatically in your Claude connector list. Open Settings → Connectors, find Guidde, and click Connect. Your browser opens to Guidde's sign-in page - sign in, choose your workspace, and you're done.
If Guidde hasn’t been added to your organization yet:
1. Open Claude's connector settings.
Go to Settings → Connectors → Browse.
2. Search for the Guidde connector
3. Sign in to Guidde.
Your browser opens to Guidde's sign-in page. Sign in with your Guidde account and approve the connection. You'll be asked to choose a workspace - select the workspace containing the content you want to access through Claude.
Note: You can only connect to one workspace at a time. To switch workspaces, disconnect and reconnect, then choose a different workspace when you sign in.
Your access token expires after two weeks. This means your Guidde connection will automatically disconnect after 14 days, or sooner if you sign out of Claude. When that happens, simply reconnect from Settings → Connectors.
4. Ask a question.
Open a new chat and ask a question in plain language. See Example prompts below.
What your agent can do
Four tools work together behind the scenes to answer your questions. You never need to call them by name - your agent automatically picks the right one based on your question.
Tool | What it does |
guidde_search | Searches your workspace library by topic, with optional filters for app, tag, creator, or channel. |
guidde_get | Opens a specific guidde and returns its steps as numbered instructions. You can also use it with a direct Guidde link. |
guidde_channels | Lists the channels you belong to, allowing searches to be scoped to a specific channel. |
guidde_identity | Returns your name and workspace, providing context for searches like "find my guiddes." |
The typical flow: your agent calls guidde_search to find the right walkthrough, then guidde_get to read it step by step and return the answer.
Tip: Because your agent decides when to reach for Guidde versus another source, it may occasionally use web search instead of your library. If that happens, rephrase your question to make the intent clear - "Check our guiddes for..." or "Search our walkthroughs for..." work well.
Example prompts
"Do we have a guide for setting up SSO?"
"How do I export a report to CSV? Walk me through it step by step."
"Find our onboarding walkthroughs and summarize what a new hire needs to do."
"What guiddes do we have about Salesforce?"
"Show me steps 20 through 40 of this guidde:" - followed by a Guidde link.
"Find the guiddes I recorded this quarter."
"Search the Support channel for anything about refunds."
"Check our guiddes for anything about approving a purchase request."
Permissions and privacy
The agent sees exactly what you see. Every request is made as you. A guidde that is private to someone else, or belongs to a channel you don't have access to won't appear in search results and can't be opened by ID or link either.
Read-only, with no exceptions. None of the four tools can create, edit, publish, share, move, or delete anything. There is no write path through this connection.
Grounded and cited, not hallucinated. The agent retrieves information directly from your Guidde library, and uses it to answer your question. It doesn't generate answers from scratch. Every answer includes a link to the original walkthrough.
Your media stays in Guidde. Responses include links to Guidde pages - but never video files or screenshot URLs. Creators are identified by display name; email addresses are not returned.
Revoking access. Disconnecting the connector in Claude ends access immediately, as does removing your account's access to Guidde.
Notes and limits
One workspace at a time. You can connect to one workspace at a time. To switch to a different workspace, disconnect Guidde from Claude and reconnect it. You’ll be prompted to select a workspace when you sign in again.
Your access token expires after 14 days. The connection automatically disconnects after two weeks. When this happens, reconnect from Settings → Connectors.
Searches cover your connected workspace only. There is no cross-workspace search.
Only published content is searchable. Guiddes that are in draft mode or awaiting review won’t appear in search results. Once published, they become available automatically.
Playlists aren't directly readable. A playlist contains multiple guiddes and can’t be read as a single Guidde - search for the individual walkthroughs it contains instead.
Response length varies by model. The model you use can affect the length and level of detail in its responses. If responses feel too verbose, try switching models - Claude Sonnet, for example, may provide more concise answers.
Supported agents
Guidde MCP is currently available in Claude (claude.ai and Claude apps).
Support for additional agents - including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Glean - is coming soon.
Custom integrations
Building your own MCP client? Point it to this endpoint:
The endpoint supports MCP over Streamable HTTP and advertises its authorization server through standard protected-resource discovery (RFC 9728), allowing a compliant client to automatically discover the sign-in flow from an unauthenticated request. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE.
Contact your Guidde representative if your integration requires functionality beyond the four tools described above.
FAQ
Do I need an API key? No. You sign in with your Guidde account in a browser. There is no key to create, store, or rotate.
Can the agent change or delete my guiddes? No. All four tools are read-only. There is no create, edit, publish, or delete path through this connection.
Can it see guiddes I don't have access to? No. Requests are made as you, with your Guidde permissions. If you can't open a guidde in Guidde, the agent can't either - even with a direct link.
Why did my connection stop working? Your access token expires automatically after 14 days, which disconnects your Guidde connection. Go to Settings → Connectors in Claude and reconnect.
Why can't it find a guidde I know exists? There are a few common reasons: the search terms may not match how the walkthrough was recorded - try using words that appear in its step titles. If the guidde is in draft mode, awaiting review, or in a channel you don't have access to, it won’t appear in search results. Check that the guidde is published and that you can access it directly in Guidde.
The agent answered my question without using my guiddes - what happened? Your agent decides when to reach for Guidde versus another source. Try rephrasing with explicit intent: "Check our guiddes for..." or "Search our walkthroughs for..."
Which plans include MCP? MCP is available as a paid add-on to the Enterprise plan. Contact the Guidde team to learn more.
