Available: as an add-on, only on the Enterprise plan
When you translate an existing Guidde, it becomes the primary video in a translation bundle, with each translated version becoming a linked translation.
The primary video serves as the original language version, and all translations are created from it.
Linked translations remain connected to the primary, allowing viewers to switch between languages seamlessly.
Now, let's go over how to create and manage translation bundles from your Guiddes.
1. Create a Translation Bundle
To begin, Navigate to the video you wish to translate, and click "Translate this Guidde."
A pop-up will appear where you can select the languages you want to translate to. You can choose multiple languages at once.
For each selected language, you can also preview and choose a speaker for the voiceover. When you're finished, click "Translate".
Once you confirm, the system will process the translations and create a Video bundle. When it's ready, click "Review" to view the translation you want to check.
Your translations bundle is ready!
In View Mode, you'll now see a language dropdown menu that lets you switch between different linked translations in the bundle. The Primary video is now labeled.
Keep in mind that you can only create more translations from the primary video, not from the linked translations.
Here’s how a bundle appears in your "My Guiddes" page. You can click on the language dropdown to select and view any linked translation.
Viewers Can Choose Their Viewing Language
When viewing a translated Guidde, your audience can now click the language icon to choose their preferred language.
2. Edit a Translation Bundle
Click "Edit Video" to open the editor.
In the editor, you can switch between different linked translations in the bundle.
When you edit a specific linked translation, and click "Done" to save- changes will only be made to that linked translation - it will not affect the other translations in the bundle.
3. Continue Translating from the Primary Video
If you wish to translate the video into more languages, navigate to the primary video and choose to translate again. In the translation pop-up, you'll see the active linked translations that already exist, and you can continue adding new languages.
If you select a language that already has a linked translation, a pop-up will warn you that proceeding will override any edits made to that translation.
This is useful if you want to update all translations to match the primary, but keep in mind that any unique edits in the linked translations will be lost.
4. Additional Options for Linked Translations
When viewing a linked translation in View Mode, the three-dot menu includes additional options:
Switching the Primary Language
If you switch the primary language, the selected linked translation will become the new primary Guidde. From then on, all translations will be created based on this new primary language.
Unlinking a Translation from the Bundle
If you unlink a translation from the bundle, it will become an independent Guidde.
Viewers will no longer see this language in the dropdown, and the detached Guidde will now appear separately in your "My Guiddes" area.
Deleting a Linked Translation
If you delete a linked translation, it will be permanently removed and will not be sent to Trash. This means there’s no way to restore it later. However, you can always translate the primary video again to recreate it.
